Created by shoe lover and businesswoman Erika Wilson, Purse Flats® are a high-end, stylish cure for women who need relief from their heels, whether they are at the office, a formal event, or heading out with friends for the night. Wilson knows about the discomfort that comes with a long workday in heels; as a former chemical engineer who currently practices intellectual property law, she’s used to spending her days running across the city in them. Her philosophy that one shouldn’t sacrifice comfort for style and vice versa eventually led to the creation of Purse Flats® in 2008.

Erika was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She cultivated her inner diva and abolished the word “can’t” from her vocabulary at an early age. Education and community were her core building blocks. She received a chemical engineering degree from college in Alabama and received a law degree from law school in Tennessee. She is an intellectual property attorney for a Fortune 100 company in the United States. As an attorney and diva, Erika is always on the go and always at an event (in heels).

Although Erika Wilson no longer resides in the City of New Orleans, it will always be her home. She was born and raised a New Orleanian, and is a proud product of the Orleans Parish Public School System.
Hurricane Katrina was devastating for New Orleans. One of the best tools for rebuilding the City of New Orleans is education. Education can uplift and empower people to accomplish the unthinkable.
In an effort to help revive New Orleans and inspire her youth, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of Purse Flats® will help fund a college scholarship for low-income high school seniors in the Orleans Parish Public School System.
